Hubert Salwarowski

Distinguished young artist Hubert Salwarowski was born in Opole, Poland in 1978 and at seven began his piano studies at the State Primary School in Katowice. He graduated with honors from the Secondary School of Music (Irena Kryszczukajtis) and the Academy of Music (Andrzej Jasinski). He studied in the master course in Duszniki with Tatiana Szebanowa, and participated in master classes with Paul Badura-Skoda in Siena, Italy, and with artist-teachers Campanella and Achucarro on a scholarship from the Italian government. In 2000 the German government awarded him a scholarship to study in master courses in Buckow and Puigcerda with Oxana Yablonskaya. At Currently he is a student in the Masters Program at the Juilliard School of Music in New York with Oxana Yablonskaya. Mr. Salwarowski was the First Prize winner of the 1995 Maria Canals International Piano Competition in Barcelona, Spain, 1999 winner of the Festival of Polish Pianists in Supsk, 2001 International Piano Competition for Piano & orchestra in Cantu, Italy and 2003 the International Piano Competition in Puigcerda, Spain Other top honors have come from the Chopin International and International Young Virtuoso Competitions. He has appeared as soloist with the Polish National Philharmonic and Polish National Radio Orchestra in Warsaw and given solo recitals in Spain, Italy, Egypt, Belgium, Austria Germany the U.S. He has won scholarships from the Chopin Society, and the Polish Ministry of Culture and Art. Mr. Salwarowski records for both radio and TV in Poland. In February 2002 he gave a series of concerts in Germany with Junge Philharmonie Koln presenting Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto in Hamburg Musikhalle, Munchen Gasteig, Koln Philharmonie and Dusseldorf Tonhalle. In 2002 he recorded Brahms Piano Concerto #1 and Prokofiev Piano Concerto #3 for “Dux” record company. The CD was nominated for the prestigious “Fryderyk” Critics’ Award in Poland.
