Yes, I have a brother who is 19 years old.
Are they musical?
He's musical, but not interested in music.
It’s
interesting how many musicians have parents who aren’t musical. I have
often heard parents say, “Oh! I wish I had learned to play an
instrument!” So their children get lessons! Are your parents musical?
My
mom is pretty musical.....but it is interesting because she always
wanted music lessons as a child, but I was the one to get them. My
father's side of the family was extreamly musical though.
How old were you when you began to learn to play the piano?
Six
Do you play other instruments?
I also enjoy singing and have played the guitar for a couple years.
Who are your favorite composers?
I
listen to a wide array of music from classical to rock. My favorite
composers are Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and John Barry. I love the Romantic
music.
What, other than music and those interests in life that everyone shares, interests you?
I
also enjoy acting. Other than playing the piano, I enjoy composing
music and singing. I write music for piano and voice and perform
locally in Grass Valley or Nevada City and in Sacramento. This is my
second year being in the Music in the Mountains Young Composers'
Symposium where I am writing a piece for piano, violin, cello, and
flute. I also teach little kids piano, which I enjoy very much!
Do you like to read? What kind of literature?
I enjoy reading, but I rarely ever find a good book. But I am a Harry Potter fanatic!
Do you play any sports?
I have taken dance before and I snowboard in the winter, but I'm NOT a sporty girl!
What are your favorite foods?
My
favorite food is without a doubt Chinese food. The perfect meal is
Combination Chowmein, Generals Chicken (not spicy), with white rice,
crab cheese puffs and Wor Wan Tan soup.....and a fourtune cookie!
