Narrative sent to GCPI by Aleksandra

You asked me why people call me "Ola". It's not my nick name. It's a pet name from Aleksandra. I don't have any nick names, but "Alex"...sounds nice. (I suggested that if she were American, people would probably call her Alex or Sandy.)

You wanted to know something more about me, so:

I was born in 1988. Unfortunately I started playing the piano late. I was about 10 when I joined the music school.

My favourite composers are W.A.Mozart and F.Chopin. I can play and listen to Chopin's work all the time ( I think it's a kind of national obsession ).

My mother and father don't speak English, but lots of my friends and my brothers speak well. I've been learning English for three years. Why do I learn English? It's one of the most popular languages and it makes communication with people from our world easy.

I have two brothers Michael and Rafael. Michael, who is 29, is physicist and Rafael, who is 27, is biologist. They doesn't play, but they like classical music. In fact, I'm the only person in my family who play the piano.

Unfortunately, I don't compose, but I wish I did. I really like reading, especially books related to music. I don't have one favourite writer. Maybe from Polish writers I like Sienkiewicz the most. He wrote one of the best (in my opinion) books I've ever read - "Quo Vadis". I also enjoy reading fantasy books, such as "The Lord of the Rings" and of course "Hobbit". Lately, I have been reading "The Little Prince". It's great book, I really recommend it!

Speaking about my hobbys, I really like maths (it's another reply to your question, I may be not very talented, but I love maths - especially geometry), physics, chemistry, English, history, art and Polish.

I hate sports!!! (maybe apart from tennis).

I don't have any favourite dinner or it would take too long to mention it all :).
I like cooking, especially cakes, but I don't have much time to do it.
My family, like most of Polish families, prepare various kind of national dishes.

I hope that I fulfilled your expectations. I hope we will meet this summer - I'm looking forward to it.

Best wishes,
Aleksandra Bobrowska from Poland
